Leaving the Hotel Residence dei Fiori you can easily reach the Baveno landing stage on foot: from here you can take boats to reach the Borromean Islands, a true heritage of history and nature.
The Isola Madre is the largest of the three: on the island it is possible to visit the unique
English botanical park for the quantity of vegetable essences coming from different parts
of the world and preserved here.
We suggest to visit the Palace of the Island, opened to the public in 1978: you can admire
furnishings and precious porcelain belonging to the Borromeo family.
Isola Bella is characterized by a wonderful Italian Baroque garden: in addition to statues
and architectural decorations, the garden boasts numerous botanical species. The
Palazzo of the island also preserves the Baroque style with large rooms elegantly
furnished.
The most picturesque island is the Isola Superiore, also known as Isola dei Pescatori: it is
the only island to be inhabited throughout the year and it is worth stopping for a lunch
break in one of the typical restaurants.
The Botanical Gardens of Villa Taranto would deserve a separate chapter for their
richness and beauty: they are composed of different thematic sections that wind along a
route for which you must plan to spend at least 2 hours. To purchase admission tickets,
you can contact our reception.
During your stay at Hotel Residence dei Fiori, dedicate a day to the city of Stresa: the
lakeside promenade allows you to admire the luxury hotels that have made the history of
the Riviera and the historic center retains a picturesque charm.
In Stresa we recommend you to visit the Pallavicino Park: the park welcomes flowered
avenues and a botanical garden, as well as a farm dune where children can see up close
deer, llamas and goats.
From Stresa, take the cableway to reach the summit of Mottarone in 20 minutes: the
landscape from Mottarone is truly breathtaking and on clear days it is possible to see 7
lakes.
Of course, there is no lack of fun for children: during the summer, take the family to
AcquaAdventure Park, an aquatic amusement park with swimming pools, slides and an
adventure park.
Instead, leaving the lakes area, you can reach the Safari Park in a few minutes by
motorway: an amusement park that hosts different species of animals, especially suitable
for children.
Do you prefer mountain trekking away from the noise and immersed in nature? A few
minutes by car you can visit the Val d'Ossola with the characteristic village of Macugnaga,
of Walser tradition.
The Val Formazza, surrounded by nature, also offers numerous possibilities for mountain
climbing, hiking, mountain biking and all winter sports.
The nearby Val Grande offers itineraries for all tastes: the Val Grande National Park is a
protected area rich in hiking itineraries divided by Nature Trails, Routes and Traverses.
Some excursions are organized by the Official Guides: ask us for more information to
organize your excursion.
Not only sport but also relaxation: the Terme di Premia facility, reachable in one hour by
car, offers swimming pools with thermal water suitable for both children and adults.
Are you passionate about golf? The structure of the Alpino di Stresa is one of the most
renowned in the area with its 18 holes and a green with a breathtaking view.

The town of Baveno organizes many events throughout the year: there are many educational and cultural events offered by the Granum Museum and the Civic Library, as well as days dedicated to local crafts and local gastronomy.
One of the most important events in the country is "A jump in the past" which usually takes place during the first weekend in December.
